The counseling process involves your active efforts to change your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.  Improvement comes from the effort you put forth, understanding that there are no instant, passive, or painless cures.  Change generally comes slowly, needing your commitment to work through the process; however, it can come quickly as you gain a new perspective.  We will discuss what your goals are for therapy and we will assess your progress along the way.  The amount of time needed will depend on your unique issues and goals.

I believe that the Bible is a remarkable guide for getting through life circumstances and when a client is open to Biblical principles, I take an integrative approach to counseling by blending Biblical principles with sound clinical insight from the study of psychology.  However, these principles are never imposed on clients.

I work with women, families, adolescents and children who are struggling with everyday life issues, such as: divorce, custody issues, abuse, bullying, anxiety, depression, parenting, adoption issues, abortion recovery, family of origin issues, and recovery issues.  I have facilitated women’s sexuality, co-dependent, Abortion Recovery, Divorce recovery and Celebrate Recovery Groups.  It is my intent to behave with unconditional positive regard and empathy while offering insight for change through Cognitive Behavioral, Family Systems, Solution-oriented Brief Therapies, Art Therapy, Play Therapy, Life Coaching, and other therapies where appropriate.
